Whenever I am in need of peace I go out into the woods. Luckily for me, I live near enough the woods, I am mostly at peace. I've also been wanting one of those little moss terrariums to keep inside, but haven't made one yet. Calm for the desktop....I suppose a photo will also suffice...for those who want a little green in their lives today....here are some trees, damp moss and rain drops.

Richard

For those of you who are my Facebook friends, you know I went to WPPI this past week, and brought along a particular RED ball....named Richard. I started in snowy Grass Valley with my son's red ball whom was unnamed at the time and became Richard I. Elias would not share and subsequently I moved onto various Target stores along the course of the trip. The other players you see in these photos are: Richard II (who later got popped by a cactus), Richard III (who got stuck behind barbed wire in Bakersfield), and Richard IV (who is with me still...waiting for his next adventure). To say the least, this impulsive move on my part, quickly became my overwhelming obsession in Vegas and on the road (as many of my personal projects do) and for ONCE...I'm going to share them somewhere other than Facebook. Yes Gabe, I will get that Tumblr page up and running soon. Anyway, Enjoy and if you want to see more ...find me on Facebook and tell me Richard sent you.

XOXO

Soft Tones

I have two polaroid cameras that take the instant 600 film. And I am pretty happy that the IMPOSSIBLE Project is making yummy film for us to use. These images were done with the soft tone. Nothing too spectacular here, but they feel nostalgic and sometimes that is enough for me. I was really just playing around with both the cameras and testing them out in my backyard. One camera I purchased from the impossible project for $300 and it comes with a refurbished shiny body and a digital preview. and the other one I bought at a thrift store for $3. They both shoot the 600 and there is no other difference that I can see. Anyone want to buy a $300 polaroid? It's really shiny.

Humor aside. I do want to order some of the new silver films they are making over there. I've seen some gorgeous work coming through their tumblr and facebook updates.

Silly Eli, Silly Momma

My intention was to fill this blog lovingly with images and words every day or at least once a week. We can all see how well that turned out. Now that most of my days are filled up with print orders and holiday chores, I have had no time for my extras...this blog being one of them. BUT I always make time to play around with my sweet Elias. Now he took two of these and I took two...and I think it's obvious which is which...and think I like his better.

hello

Hi. Thanks for stopping by. New Year. New personal blog. YAY.

Not sure what will come of this side note to my wedding and portrait blog, but my hope is that it will be a little more personal, and a little more me. Don't mind the broken trains of thought, the scattered mind.

This photo was taken back in 1999 or 1998 when I was still in Santa Barbara. It was one of the first images taken with my RZ camera (tech-y note) and it remains a personal favorite to this day (personal insight). That list is very short, mind you, as I tend to tire of everything I do within about 60 seconds. I'll post some of my other top ten as we go along here...OK? Ten images over the course of a decade. That sounds about right. A good place to start the year though.
